Tis, not the season yet, but it’s never too early to start getting excited about the joy and fun of the winter holiday.
The pandemic did threaten to cut down the celebration last year, but in true Christmas spirit, the community adapted and opted for drive-through Christmas lights to still offer people a great experience.
And if you’re in Dallas Fort Worth, there are the best drive-through Christmas lights to look forward to the next winter holiday:
1. Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway
Texas Motor Speedway is a true pro when it comes to driving through Christmas lights, offering over two miles of light displays that make up almost 3 million lights. For safety reasons, the event was turned into a drive-through only and visitors were asked to remain in their cozy vehicles to look at the Christmas lights and enjoy the music, but even so, the holiday spirit was very much alive!
2. Dallas Zoo Lights
The Dallas Zoo Lights also converted to a drive-through Christmas lights event. It’s about a 45-minute cruise and last year visitors were also asked to remain in the vehicles and drive through a newly constructed pathway through the zoo.
3. Vitruvian Lights
The largest holiday event in North Texas had to make some big changes last year as most of its signature events were canceled. However, visitors were able to walk or drive through the daily Christmas lights display and at least enjoy the over 1.5 million lights placed throughout the Vitruvian Park.
4. Grand Prairie’s Prairie Lights
About 30 minutes from downtown Dallas lies Prairie Lights, a wonderful drive-through Christmas lights that required few changes last year. Around 5 million lights are spread across a 2-mile radius. The journey features several holiday scenes and an animated tunnel that served as the big finale last year.
5. Interlochen Lights Display
Arlington residents know how to put on a light show for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can drive through the more than 200 Christmas lights-filled homes and discover an amazing sight of holidays, community, and spectacular atmospheres.
Visitors had to follow a strict route to enter and exit the area, but that didn’t take away from the wonderful magic of the experience.
